My Journey into Music…
In 1994, alongside my high school education, I began studying Western music and learning the clarinet and saxophone under the guidance of my esteemed teacher, Adnan Mesci . Over time, I performed both solo and with orchestras in various shows and programs. The ney, which remained a deep passion in my heart for years, finally became a reality for me when I moved to Kayseri/Türkiye.

Mastering Ney Performance and Craftsmanship…
At the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Art Academy
, I received training in Turkish classical music and ney performance from the respected Neyzen Mehmet Tiryaki. I tried various neys made by different makers. Inspired by Neyzen İsmail Yavuz’s saying, “A good neyzen makes his own ney,” I began learning the art of ney-making from Seyfi Günay, a master of both Mey and Ney.
As requests from people around me grew, I began crafting neys upon request, without tying myself to any specific brand. During this journey, I also studied Turkish music theory and rhythmic patterns for a time under Muhammed Türe
, Lecturer of Islamic Arts and Religious Music at Bartın University. As an academic and neyzen, his evaluations and feedback on my work helped me improve and refine the quality of my instruments, achieving perfectly tuned and problem-free neys.
With increasing demand, I decided to offer my work under a registered brand and obtained
trademark from the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in June 2020. While continuing ney production under my registered brand, I was officially recognized as a Ney Craft Artist
by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2021.
Today, I continue...
- My education in Turkish classical music and ney at the Kayseri Art Academy with Neyzen Mehmet Tiryaki,
- Performing with the Turkish Classical Music choir under the Kayseri Directorate of Culture and Tourism,
- And crafting high-quality neys at my small workshop in my home in Talas, Kayseri—offering dedicated service to ney lovers around the world.
